Middle Swan Residential Care celebrated its first anniversary on 10 July 2024, marking a year of community and exceptional care. Held in the MacDonald Auditorium, the event was attended by approximately 100 guests, including residents, staff and the Board of Masonic Care WA.
The celebration commenced with a warm welcome from Chairman Peter Kirwan. Reflecting on the journey since the groundbreaking event in 2020, Peter praised the remarkable achievements and commitment that have shaped Middle Swan into a wonderful home for its residents. He extended heartfelt thanks to Facility Manager Dez Lopez and her team for their dedication. Following Peter’s address, CEO Marie-Louise (M-L) MacDonald echoed the Chairman’s sentiments and highlighted the vital role residents play in making Middle Swan a special place. “Our residents are the heart of Middle Swan,” M-L remarked, emphasising the sense of community that has flourished over the past year.
A highlight of the event was a photo reel showcasing various celebrations and events held at Middle Swan throughout the year by MC, Sandra Hough, showcasing moments of joy, laughter, and togetherness, illustrating how the facility has truly become a home. The entertainment continued with two delightful chair dancing performances. The first performance featured the staff and residents of Level 1, followed by a performance by the staff and residents of Level 2.
