Middle Swan Residential Care received industry recognition alongside catering partner Cater Care Australia on Monday 10th August, with an Honourable Mention in the Health & Aged Care Caterer category at the 2026 Western Australian Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.

The Health & Aged Care Caterer category recognises catering- delivering food services within hospitals and aged care settings, with a strong focus on the quality of both the food and the overall dining experience. Nominees for the category consistently demonstrated their chefs, operations teams and facility management work closely together, with a shared focus on delivering positive outcomes for residents. 

Middle Swan Residential Care was selected for entry following consistently positive feedback about its food program and the strong collaborative relationship between our staff and the Cater Care team.

Following the submission, the Middle Swan dining service underwent a live, on-site assessment by an independent judge as part of the Restaurant & Catering Industry Association’s evaluation process. 

During the assessment, meals were sampled during live service, with the culinary team evaluated on areas including taste, nutrition and presentation. The judging process also considered the broader dining experience, including service delivery and the way staff interact with and support residents. 

At Middle Swan, this experience is created through the combined efforts of Masonic Care WA staff and the Cater Care team. From the meals prepared in the kitchen to the way residents are welcomed, supported and cared for throughout service, both teams work together to make dining an enjoyable and meaningful part of everyday life. 

The Honourable Mention recognises the collaborative approach that underpins the Middle Swan dining experience and the commitment of both teams to providing residents with high-quality food, professional service and genuine care.
